Catch and session information
Planned Smart Catch Cards and session records may include species, catch date and time, weight and measurements, method, bait or lure, rod and reel information, water type, named venue, general area, photographs, notes, session timeline, weather and environmental conditions, visibility choice and a private location record.

A catch may remain entirely private. Creating a Catch Card should not automatically publish it to friends, followers or the public.
Private notes and precise locations must remain separate from the content selected for social sharing.
06 / LOCATION & WEATHER
Location and weather information
When an angler chooses to record a catch location, FishBookPro© is intended to request permission before accessing location information. A user should also be able to enter a named water or general area without sharing precise coordinates publicly.
A future catch submission may use: User-approved GPS position · Catch date and time · Internet connection · Weather-provider response
The planned system will send the approved location and catch time to a secure server-side function, which may request weather and environmental information from a suitable provider.
Planned provider approach
MET Norway Locationforecast is the preferred initial provider. The UK Met Office Weather DataHub is a potential fallback or comparison source. A replaceable provider layer should allow services to change later. Neither provider is represented as a formal FishBookPro© partner.

FishBookPro© must never invent an unavailable weather value.
Precise coordinates may be used privately to retrieve relevant conditions, while public posts and community patterns should use reduced, generalised or aggregated location information.
07 / ANGLING INTELLIGENCE
Search Anything and AI-assisted insight
Search Anything is intended to answer natural-language angling questions using the criteria supplied by the user, structured FishBookPro© information, privacy-safe community patterns, relevant current public information and AI-assisted interpretation.
Future answers should clearly show: The question asked · Conditions considered · Information categories used · Current sources where appropriate · Confidence or uncertainty · Whether a statement is factual, inferred or advisory · The date or freshness of time-sensitive information
AI-generated guidance cannot guarantee a catch and should not replace personal judgement, local rules, watercraft or safety decisions.
Search Anything must not reveal another angler’s identity, private Catch Cards, private notes or exact fishing position.

Community questions and AI-generated answers
A contributor-posted community or venue question may include an ‘Ask AI for an answer’ action.
The planned AI may: 1. Read the posted question and permitted context · 2. Analyse relevant privacy-safe FishBookPro© information · 3. Search current trusted public sources · 4. Cross-check and synthesise an answer · 5. Populate a reviewable answer field · 6. Label the result clearly as ‘AI-generated answer’ · 7. Allow the user to review the answer before publishing it
The planned service will limit each user to one AI-generated community answer per genuine active session. This restriction should be enforced on the server rather than relying only on the browser. A closed browser or manipulated client state must not automatically bypass server-side anti-abuse controls.

FishBookPro© may eventually use carefully selected providers for website hosting, authentication, database storage, file and photograph storage, email delivery, weather information, AI processing, security, error monitoring, analytics where consent is required and customer support.

No online service can honestly promise absolute security. FishBookPro© should use proportionate technical and organisational safeguards and respond promptly when risks are identified.
